When Annie was a toddler, she and her father got ill and burned with a fever so hot that Amoline wasn't even able to hold her. As she applied her finishing touches, Amoline went into labor and gave birth to Annie. Amoline eventually became pregnant and, in anticipation for her daughter's birth, made a stuffed teddy bear fashioned after the mysterious shadow bears that were rumored to once roam the lands before they settled on it. The couple eventually made it to the Ironspike Mountains, creating a home for themselves and living peacefully. Amoline escaped the school when the Black Rose began experimenting with demons, infusing Amoline with the fire demon Tybaulk.
Unbeknowst to Gregori, Amoline was actually a runaway from the 1 Ravenbloom Conservatory, a school training young mages that was secretly run by the Black Rose. Gregori Hastur, also known as Gregori the Gray was among these Noxians and, on his travels, had met a witch named Amoline Kiosar. In the midst of Boram Darkwill's final years on the thrones, many magically adept Noxians felt uncertain of his leadership and began fleeing the capital city in favor of the peaceful borderlands around Noxus.
